Don't discuss Bush's lies -- you might be helping a terrorist!

Scott Rosenberg's Links & Comment

"Everywhere you look, this presidency is draped in curtains of lies. And we're supposed to protect the nation by not pointing them out? Sorry. The very dangers Henninger invokes to shush complaints instead add urgency to the alarms we must raise. A deceptive government isn't ever desirable; "at a dangerous moment," it's not just bad, it's hazardous."

Sigh.

Propaganda Interview Dissected

It struck me all the sudden - what I saw on Meet The Press was propaganda, nothing more, nothing less. Overt. Blatant.

Well, we The People still have some freedoms left, such as the Freedom to Dissect Propaganda.

Why I've slacked off...

Over the last few months, I've been posting here at least once a day, often more. There was just so much juicy stuff being ignored by the media herd that I felt compelled to post it here, even though I know only a few people read my rants.

Lately though, I just can't muster the energy to rant. Mostly it's that I have more work. But there are other factors: 1) Bush is doing a good job at sinking himself, he doesn't need any help, thankyouverymuch, and 2) I'm completely overwhelmed by the sheer volume of hypocrisy, cynicism and dishonesty we The People are enduring.

I didn't allow myself to have high hopes regarding yesterday's Meet The Press Bushyview, fully expecting NBC to cowtow to the Prez, like good little bovines. They delivered, of course. The rest of the media went along with it, too. The whole thing was a joke.

What gets me is that CNN and CBS could have had a field day with NBC's cowardice, picking apart the interview. This would have been immensely popular with the american public (witness the Prez's newfound dissaproval numbers), and done wonders for their ratings (which are stinking right now).

People like me are starving for real news, anything to counteract Fox's evil. I keep expecting one of the news conglomerates to break from the pack and take the lead.

Sigh.

California is just fvcked up...

I like California. I like its diversity, its relativistic point of view, its weather. But sometimes, the wackiness just gets out of hand.. Gay marriage? Yay! Medicinal blunts? Yay! Pseudo-scientific claptrap building codes? BOOOO!

What a freakin' joke.

Blatant, but smart

I've said it before: the fvckers in the whitehouse are evil geniuses. Yes, all their latest Iraq War posturing is blatant spinning, easily countered with the simplest google search, and many people are pointing this out. What they're missing is it doesn't matter how shallow and transparent their lying is, because it is enough for the true believers to latch on to. True genius. Evil, but genius.
